Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable)

We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team and manage key responsibilities for Valença & Mangualde (country-wide responsibility). You’ll be in charge of handling various accounting tasks in the accounts payable area, including:

• Managing invoices and self-invoices for Valença & Mangualde.
• Controlling purchase prices for closed orders in Valença.
• Monitoring monthly “quota regulations” for purchase prices.
• Completing reports for Netting (IC).
• Supporting weekly cash forecasting related to the AP area.
• Assisting in adding new suppliers in Valença & Mangualde via COUPA/SAP.
• Monthly follow-up on former GRNI with logistics.
• Preparing quarterly payment/collection reports.
• Creating a monthly AP summary binder.
• Ensuring SOX controls in AP are followed.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Monitoring IPC monthly controls.
• Comparing monthly purchases against group data.
• Reviewing and approving tax codes on invoices (Tax Review).
• Checking receipts and invoices daily in SAP (3 Way Match).
• Preparing Intrastat reports for Valença & Mangualde.
• Assisting with tax-related requirements.
• Supporting audits by compiling necessary documentation.
• Creating monthly KPIs for the department.
• Assisting and reviewing the AP work for teams in the Philippines & Czech Republic.

 

Job Requirements

• Education: Specialized studies in accounting (a university degree is a plus).
• Language: Basic business English (A2 minimum); Spanish is a plus.
• Experience: Not required, but SAP accounting experience is a plus.
