Role overview:

Manage the area of ​​Personnel Administration, Labor Relations and HR Development of the two factories located in Portugal (Valença-Mangualde), in accordance with the policy of the department. of corporate HR and in coordination with Plant Managers.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement Lear's HR policies.

  • Manage the Labor Relations of the Plants: works council, agreements, negotiation, relations with unions, etc.

  • Manage Plant Personnel Administration area: payroll, hiring, personnel data management, dressing codes, presence control; always ensuring compliance with current labor legislation in all these matters.

  • Manage the HR development area (training, selection, motivation), implementing the policy and respecting Lear procedures and proposing any improvement action for the Plants.

  • Collaboration with the Occupational Safety area.

  • Manage the workforce planification: forecasting hiring, planning for hiring, monitoring, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with the Plant Communication Plan.

  • Preparation of reports and reporting indicators

  • Propose and manage the annual Budget of the Department, as well as expenses related to personnel.

  • Representing the Company in Public Administration, and coordinating with other corporate departments (legal, purchasing, etc.) of Lear.

  • Promote and be a facilitator of participation, teamwork and communication in the different areas of the Plant.

  • Promote actions on gender equality, diversity and other social policie

  • Lead our Local teams in Valença and Mangualde travelling to Mangualde plant when needed (normally not more than once per month)


Ideal candidate will have:

  • Portuguese and English are a Must and Spanish would be a plus.
  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant HR related subject.
  • Proven experience of working in an operational HR management role, within a fast moving, manufacturing or distribution/logistics environment.
  • An empathetic and engaging management style.
  • A best practice approach to Employee Relations with some experience of mediation.
  • SAP SF knowledge would be a plus.
  • A sense of humour.
