Position Overview

Lear is looking for a Leadership role responsible for Lear’s Global hardware design and development for Electrification Engineering. The position reports to the global head of Electrification engineering and will work closely with the Electrification leadership team including product management, systems engineering, Mechanical engineering, software engineering, and purchasing to develop highly advanced Power electronics components like OBC, DCDC and BMS. The position will be located at Lear’s offices in Valls, Spain, with occasional travel to Lear’s engineering centers.


Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to)

  • Lead, mentor and develop a Global team of 70+ hardware engineers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Software, Mechanical, Program Management, Purchasing, Operations and Product Management.
  • Plan, lead and manage the hardware development of electrification products (OnBoard Charges, DCDC converters and Battery Monitoring Systems) according project milestones and customer expectations.
  • Manage complex power electronics hardware designs with cross-cultural teams.
  • Ensure high quality design standards by demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Execute KPI based efficiency improvements at all levels of the organization and development process.
  • Drive technical projects and engage with upper management regularly reporting project status, activities, and achievements.
  • Have strong background on EMC fundamentals.
  • Hold solid know-how on cost driven designs.


To be a success in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor's in an Engineering Discipline
  • Master’s degree or MBA will be highly desirable
  • Experience in the development of automotive electronics products.
  • Direct experience in Power electronics design.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of success in creating and innovating complex automotive designs
