As a Logistics and Transportation specialist you will ensure flawless transportation for In-/Outbound flows within Lear's existing transportation network. The associate identifies and implements projects to save costs and optimize transportation settings according to internal processes. You will also work with other colleagues from the Lear region to build global routes for existing and future inbound and outbound lanes.


Within the central logistics team you will be giving support and be accountable for all logistics related processes and tasks needed by the plants in the region under your scope and must be familiar with international road transport networks as well as Air & Ocean modes of transport. Some experience with TMS (Transport Management Systems) and the freight forwarding industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

 

  • View and analyze weekly transport KPIs, deliveries to ensure material delivery when needed to avoid line downtime or additional costs
  • Collaborate with plants and central team to optimize supply strategy (creating shipping orders, premium costs, package sizes, customs issues, etc.)
  • Support Maintain up-to-date vendor parameters in internal tools and monitor internal processes
  • Sourcing transportation needs for the plants under your scope, securing the best option in terms of cost and reliability within our approved carrier pool
  • Performance review of existing carriers and support with on boarding of new ones

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Business or engineering background with MBA or Supply Chain
  • Managerial skills to indirectly lead teams
  • The ability to think strategically
  • Language skills English and Spanish are a must
  • A team player, resistant to frustration with problem solving skills and supporting internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with remote teams
