Senior Mechanical Designer

Core responsibilities:

The Mechanical Designer (MECH) is the developer of the mechanical integration design following the specs released by the Customer. The main responsibility is to develop a Mechanical design integrating PCB and HW’s design.

Develop MECH design integration having the technical control and taking technical decisions for the correct fulfillment of product functionality and its requirements.

Provide the technical support to other areas (internal & external) involved on the development, production, testing and manufacturability of the mechanical assembly and single components.

 

Your tasks will be:

Analyze, understand and design according applicable Mechanical specifications (product requirements, packaging specs…).

Analyze and understand laboratory validation to be applied into the product.

Make the Mechanical Integration design fulfilling the specifications, following internal and external design guidelines 

Participation and collaboration with other areas (PCB and HW ) and Global Mechanical design areas. 

Make the mechanical components and assembly drawings, manufacturing and customer drawings using CATIA v5.

Support the definition of the MECH bill of materials.

Lead terminals  and connectors technology.

Support and follow mechanical design review with customer, manufacturing, suppliers and other engineering areas.

Selection and definition of the suitable materials and technology based on the technical requirements and taking in consideration the costs.

Participates in the preparation of the DFMEA  and when requested on the PFMEA.

Ensure a robust mechanical design by following the mechanical design process and using the engineering tools available: check list, thermal and mechanical simulation, design guidelines, PCB interface, …

Analyze results from laboratory validations proposing possible changes on mechanical design to solve non-conformities.

Homologate the mechanical designs trough PPAP process.

Review dimensional reports from first samples from suppliers.

Define validation criteria for prototypes.

 

To success in this role, you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience on mechanical product integration.
Technical expertise on terminals and connectors.
Knowledge of design tools: CATIA V5 Skeleton, Quality tools (DFMEA, 8D reports, …) and injection and stamping processes.
Open mind, proactive, team player, and communications skills.

Fluent English.
