Engineering Manager Seating R&D

A unique opportunity has opened in our Seating Technical Center in Velizy as Engineering Manager.

The seating technical center is growing & looking for its Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Engineering Director. If you enjoy driving growth in a very challenging environment, this opportunity is for you!

 

As Engineering Manager, you will be in charge of Growing and coaching a team capable to design robust products on time and within budget whilst also being responsible for delivering a seating project on time and within budget.

 

Additional duties will include (but may not be limited to)

 

 

  • Ensuring own assigned seating program meets - Design for assembly and Design for Manufacture targets of Lear.
  • Managing Design Review process of whole team
  • Developing plans for own team.
  • Learning Lear internal processes and ensure own skills matrix and training plan is fulfilled.
  • Ensuring compliance by all engineers.
  • Maintaining team training plans and report out any issues.
  • Ensuring own project meets Lear LPMP deliverables on time.
  • Responsible for monitoring and supporting projects at the technical level
  • Responsible for the organization of its platform to achieve the objectives set by its management
  • Ensuring the use of HCC and LCC resources while respecting LEAR procedures and budgetary objectives for which he is responsible.
  • Driving force in the use of Corporate tools such as PLM, PROFILE and LEAN engineering (Design review, DFMEA, etc.)
  • Ensuring the support of his/her team for the deployment of the LEAR technical expertise network in Europe
  • Ensuring the quality of technical representations to our customers
  • Supporting the 5S process and guarantees its application in the workspaces of its teams

To be a success in this role you must have

 

 

·      Excellent organizational skills – a proven record in being able to plan and track project activities.

·      Automotive experience is needed, ideally in seating

·      At least 5 years proven experience in a similar position with management

·      Leadership & team management skills: Experience leading and driving a team (direct reports and cross functional)

·      High project management skills

·      Autonomous & self-starter

·      Innovative & Flexibility

·      Fluency in English & French
