MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Oshawa, Ontario

 

As a member of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring plant equipment and facilities are operational and meet health & safety and production requirements.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supervise daily maintenance requirements.
  • Work as a team with other maintenance supervisors for clear communication, shift reporting, even and consistent task division and on time project completion.
  • Working multiple shift rotation is required.
  • Inventory control and procurement of parts required.
  • Facility management and procurement of services.
  • Supervise weekend workers for production support and/or maintenance activities.
  • Initiate and coordinate projects for weekday and weekend work.
  • Manage computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for preventative maintenance & projects.
  • Monitor and manage TS16949 documents and requirements.
  • Manage maintenance work list of ongoing projects.
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of problems.
  • Work closely with departmental manager and engineering department.
  • Compliance with all in plant/departmental requirements, WHMIS, and Health & Safety issues.
  • Works safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and takes all reasonable measures to protect themselves, co-workers and direct reports.
  • Review resumes – identify suitable candidates - interview and recommend who to hire for open trades positions including apprentices.
  • Manage / Track all contractors, outside vendors related to building / facilities maintenance
  • Participate in internal plant layered audits
  • Participate in annual registration audits and demonstrate compliance with requirements to the auditor e.g. ISO/IATF
  • Proactively engage in identifying areas of safety concern and recommend or implement corrections
  • Recruitment and training of coworkers / other maintenance supervisors
  • Recognizing and understanding the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technology.
  • Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.

 

 

Your Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning and Organization skills.
  • Time Management and Prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Lean & 5S principles.

Bonus If You Have:

  • Post Secondary Education or Experiential Equivalency
  • 3-5 years experience in managing a manufacturing facility including facilities management, parts, and procurement.
  • Supervisory experience of skilled trades preferably within a unionized environment
