Production Supervisor

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to work in a high-performance self-directed work team environment and partner with our management team to align our Production department initiatives and functions with the objectives of the business. 

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the plant is meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations by producing the highest quality products in the safest and most efficient and effective manner.




  • Works safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, maintains cleanliness of work area, ensures uses and wears personal protective equipment, executes start of shift ergonomic stretches and takes all reasonable measures to protect themselves, co-workers and direct reports.
  • Coordinates resolution of quality concerns related to production, reports supplier defects and communicates customer quality issues to improve overall quality results and the minimization of scrap.
  • Plans and schedules production activities and ensures correct production processes are followed.
  • Coordinates training and cross training with team leaders and ensures effective job rotation is maintained.
  • Provides coaching to team leaders and team members to improve key performance metrics including counseling and disciplining, when necessary.
  • Executes TPM equipment functional check activities and maintains cleanliness of equipment ensuring proper function and the minimization of delays.
  • Encourages the generation of continuous improvement ideas to improve safety and quality standards, reduce costs, increase revenue and improve customer service.
  • Works with other departments to prevent any probable delay in production and effectively executes the policies and goals of the organization.
  • Prepares various reports and documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with the following legislation: OHSA, WSIB, Human Rights, Employment Standards, and Labour Relations.

  • Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.






  • High School Diploma


  • Post Secondary Education or Experiential Equivalency



  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • 5-7 years experience in the Production Department within the manufacturing/automotive industry including supervisor responsibility in a unionized workforce.
