Job Description

 

Objective: The Cost and Price Engineer must be able to identify improvement opportunities to maximize O/I, as well as effectively calculate new business and engineering changes through technical and financial knowledge. In addition, they must propose new tools to improve delivery time and enhance analytical capacity

Responsibilities

 

  • Reading and interpretation of drawings and/or blueprints.
  • Generation and understanding of technical information: BoMs, Cut Sheets & Labor Reports.
  • Analyze and calculate the cost and price impact of engineering changes with the objective of maximizing O/I for each engineering change.
  • Attend QIE meetings to ensure timely identification of information and/or documentation for the correct calculation of ECNs/CRs/PCRs.
  • Understand basic cost and pricing formats: Pricing Models, APR, PAR.
  • Analyze and calculate the cost and suggested price impact for new business opportunities with the objective of maintaining and/or improving the sales level.
  • Actively provide support in continuous improvement activities through participation in workshops with the objective of quoting CTO ideas accurately and on time.
  • Provide support and contribute ideas (Cost-Benefit) to improve O/I.
  • Meet delivery deadlines for each engineering change and new business to contribute to financial objectives.
  • Develop new tools through the automation of formats to help the Cost & Pricing department improve delivery times and process efficiency

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

Accountants with experience in cost accounting, standard cost analysis, interpretation of profit and loss, and project analysis. Engineering experience is not required. At least one year of experience in the automotive industry.
