INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
DUNCAN, SOUTH CAROLINA – DUNCAN PLANT
As a member of the Engineering team, the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for organizing and executing engineering objectives for launch readiness, labor optimization, and production responsiveness. Industrial Engineers serve as owners of the plant’s manufacturing processes.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Design and optimize production and warehousing processes.
- Maintain 2D CAD plant layouts.
- Lead process improvement activities with cross functional teams.
- Develop and maintain Process flow diagrams and PFMEA’s for all production process.
- Drive plant performance KPI including OEE, labor cost per unit, first pass yield and more.
- Responsible for assisting with set-up and maintenance of electric and pneumatic fastening tools.
- Preparation and maintenance of Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Coordinating execution of manufacturing and material flow/handling process changes.
- Hand tool specification and design.
- Assisting associates, team leaders and process technicians in troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary by engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field of study
- 1+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Industrial Engineer or in a related occupation.
- Experience must include AutoCAD or equivalent, Time study, value stream mapping, and PFMEA.
- Clear understanding of modular bill of materials
- Skilled in ERP (AS400)
- Take initiative and ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
- ISO 14001, OSHA, and IATF 16949 standards and compliance requirements
- Basic and Maxi Maynard Operating Sequence Technique (MOST) standards
