ASSISTANT QUALITY MANAGER
AUBURN HILLS, MI
As a member of the Quality team, the Assistant Quality Manager will assist plan, coordinate, and direct quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the duties either personally or through subordinate staff members and monitors and maintains IATF 16949 systems in compliance to the latest standards.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage and effectively response in a timely fashion on all customer written complaints in Global Quality Tracking System
- (SQTS) and Lear Quality Tracking System (LQTS)
- Ensure required report deadlines are completed before the 5th of the month
- Develop and Assist EPC guidelines for new or existing programs
- Acting Flint Plant Lead Auditor
- Manage and Implement IATF 16949 revisions as needed
- Manage the Annual Internal Audit Schedule
- Attend and Support External Audits
- Complete Internal Audits per annual schedule
- Perform job duties of the Quality Supervisor and Supplier Quality as needed
- Interface with the production team and work with them on meeting customer expectations
- Support as needed supplier corrective actions have been completed with resolution and verification of support documents
- Verify the Control Plans are update per changes and process walks are completed in a timely fashion
- Support in review the root cause analysis of all GM Flint & Fort Wayne Truck SPPS written complaints
- Assure they are closed in a timely manner
- Support in review and root cause analysis of Customer QN’s
- Assure they are closed in a timely manner
- Verify GR&R effort requirements for all new launches
- Weekly operating summary (WOS) updates as required
- By 10:00AM of the following Monday
- Monthly operating summary (MOS) updates as required
- By the 5th of every month
- Evaluate all capability studies for each month manage action Items for issues not meeting requirement
- Support Fast Response Implementation and documentation for internal and external concerns
- Support Lear Plant of the Future (LPOF) implementation for Lear Flint, and provide quarterly updates
- Quality Gate implementation and training for team members
- Assure they are closed in a timely manner
- Weekly Kronos review and approve
- Bi-Weekly Timecard review and approve
- Effectively communicate and report out at the Global Customer Audit (GCA) at GM (as needed)
- Support Management Review updates for Quality
- Schedule monthly meetings, schedule a back up meeting for each month
- Assure ELPA corrective actions are closed in a timely manner
- Manage the COPQ project matrix for Flint
- Review and approve all customer chargeback
- Review and report out weekly overrides
- Support PPAP, assure PPAP’s are complete and uploaded in SQMS on time
- Manage all Lab activities
- Assure Customer Requirements for Scans, Efforts and H-Pont are complete per schedule requirements
- Support Engineering Lab Activities
- Assure LPA’s for Quality are scheduled and completed in a timely manner per the weekly requirements
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. /B.A.); five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Bonus If You Have:
- IATF lead auditor certification
- Quality management experience/working relationship with OEM customer
- Proficiency in APIS software
- Engineering educational background
