QUALITY ENGINEER
LEAR PLAINFIELD

 

As a member of the Lear Plainfield Quality Department, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for:

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Executing PPAP Process for components and assemblies on the given time frame and milestones
  • Coordination and steering of supplier PPAP submissions in terms of documentation and hardware
  • Ensuring the quality of submitted documentation by reviewing and analyzing it in detail
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Strong communication to all stakeholders (internal and external) responsible to align quality requirements and milestones.
  • Upload PPAP submissions in customer systems
  • Internal and external reporting of status and KPI’s
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
  • Ensures quality conforms to requirements, workmanship standards, work instructions, engineering documents, and thorough testing are used to assess the conformance of the product, and non-conformances are either immediately repaired and re-inspected, or identified and segregated from conforming product
  • Create, analyze, and oversee all internal quality reports for management staff review, including containment process, inspection process, and reverification process.
  • Create Supplier QN’s via Lear SQTS and drive suppliers to timely completion.

Your Qualifications:

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in automotive industry, particularly in a metal stamping, welding and assembly environment.
  • Knowledge of auditing processes which guide us per IATF, etc.
  • Structured, problem-solving mindset.
  • Basic knowledge of the GD&T process and testing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Knowledge of capability testing process

 

Bonus If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Any foreign language written or spoken
  • Detailed knowledge of testing requirements and evaluation process
