Role summary

We are seeking a Foreign Trade expert to lead our international treaties strategy. Your primary mission will be to ensure regulatory compliance for operations across Mexico, the USA, Honduras and Canada, optimizing duty payments and ensuring our components and finished products fully leverage the benefits of current trade agreements.

Key responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to international commercial treaties and trade agreements.
  • Strategic Monitoring: Monitor changes in customs legislation and assess the business impact on financial and logistical operations.
  • Cost Optimization: Maximize the use of preferential trade agreements to reduce duties through the solicitation, qualification, and analysis of Rules of Origin for components and products.
  • Customer Requirements: Respond in a timely and accurate manner to customer requests, audits, or trade validation requirements.

Education Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert level in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements USCMA, TLCUE, KORUS, ACE55 (specific knowledge of Rules of Origin is a must).

Experience Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in customs management, international trade, or logistics, preferably within the automotive sector.
  • People management: Proven working experience leading and developing teams
  • Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, result-oriented mindset, and proven experience working directly with global suppliers and customers.
