The production plant in Ostrov u Stříbra has been operating since 2008 and is one of the key production units within the European Lear network. In Ostrov u Stříbra we produce high-quality seating systems for key customers of the automotive industry. More than 800 employees work together on attractive seat models for the Audi, BMW and Porsche.

What are we looking for?

Lear has an opportunity for a proven Production Manager, who is accomplished at working in an international and fast growing environment. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of goals as well as exceeding those of our customers, through the application of continuous improvement, personal coaching, training and development. It goes without saying you’ll have strong manufacturing acumen, be goal orientated, enjoy changes and production analysis. This unique role is based in Ostrov u Stribra.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage production facility to ensure production meets daily targets for delivery quantity and product quality;
• Continuously measure and improve department Key Performance Indicators in accordance with Plant targets
• Manage maintenance department, continuously update TPM planning;
• Cooperate with Quality department to achieve best quality of the product;
• Cooperate with Industrial Engineering and IT departments on maintenance and repair of production equipment, systems;
• React to customer concerns together with management team;
• Support Lean manufacturing throughout all production activities;
• Manage daily operations of 300 department employees as well as participating in their development and evaluation
• Demonstrate potential cost reduction
• Drive and deliver on Quality, Maintenance, Health and Safety, Production, Engineering and Logistics aspects of the plant
• Participating in Staff Meetings, such as Daily Metrics and Production floor walk

Profile:

• Have a track record of success working in international automotive companies with a strong background in manufacturing area.
• In your previous roles, you will have successfully driven and lead a Production Department for at least 4 years
• Be a strong leader for the team as well as be able to develop and improve relationships with customers
• Have strong communication skills in Czech and English
• Ideally you’ll have a University degree in Technical field and have a good working knowledge of: LEAN, FMEA, APQP. Kaizen
• An understanding of JIT system
• ISO/TS 16949 requirements
• ISO 14001 requirements
