Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the proper implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality systems, processes, procedures, and tools. This position ensures compliance with customer requirements, applicable quality standards, and plant objectives. The Quality Engineer coordinates inspection activities, problem-solving initiatives, corrective actions, and quality planning to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve control plans and inspection plans.
  • Validate and optimize statistical studies related to processes and critical product characteristics.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing and eliminating PPMs.
  • Coordinate quality resources and activities related to product and process inspection.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities, including customer complaints and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Promote a culture of quality and discipline within the Quality Management System.
  • Develop and improve acceptance criteria in collaboration with customers and auditors.
  • Communicate quality issues effectively across departments and drive resolution efforts.
  • Implement and maintain controls that protect the customer and ensure product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with quality requirements across all production shifts.
  • Monitor and follow up on corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Manage supplier quality development and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Administer and control customer-returned material.
  • Ensure product quality through robust process controls that prevent defect escapes.
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949 requirements and actively participate in the Quality Management System.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, safety, environmental, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Exercise authority to stop production, equipment, activities, or processes when a quality, safety, health, or environmental risk is identified.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any related field. 

Certifications / Licenses

Preferred certifications and training include:

  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Six Sigma, Core Tools, IATF. 
  • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Accountability Workshop
