Following its establishment in 2012, Plzeň has grown into our fastest-growing Engineering Development Center in Europe. The center focuses on the design and development of Lear products, including complex seating mechanisms and structures, foams, coatings, plastics, and trim components. The vision for Plzen is not to work as an internal supplier for our European business units but to develop into a leading Design and Development Center working on projects for all major European OEM customer groups from concept phase through to delivery.
Your Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, timelines, resources, and milestones for AI/ML initiatives across the EU & Africa region.
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams including data scientists, data engineers, software developers, partners, and business stakeholders.
- Manage the full AI/ML lifecycle from experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
- Track progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation plans.
- Communicate project status, results, risks, and next steps to stakeholders and leadership; manage steering committee reviews.
- Translate technical concepts into clear business terms and serve as the main point of contact for all AI project deliverables.
- Maintain complete project documentation: business case, cost/benefit, requirements, RASIC, timelines, deployment plans, quality checks, risk strategies, and lessons learned.
- Define and uphold methodological standards for AI project execution (agile or hybrid).
- Manage change‑request workflows, prioritize enhancements, and align feature roadmaps with stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to data quality, security, and regulatory requirements, including data‑privacy and AI‑governance standards.
- Support responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and explainability.
- Contribute to MLOps best practices to ensure scalable and maintainable deployments.
- Engage plants early to ensure manufacturability, deployment readiness, and operational integration.
Your Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project‑management experience with exposure to AI/ML or emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle (data, model development, training, evaluation, deployment).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills in an international environment.
- Ability to manage cross‑functional teams and complex projects.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Trello.
Ideally you have as well:
- Experience managing project budgets above €2M.
- At least 2 years of AI/ML project‑management experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing or automotive sector.
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification.
- Familiarity with GDPR, EU AI Act, CE certification, or similar regulatory frameworks.
