Following its establishment in 2012, Plzeň has grown into our fastest-growing Engineering Development Center in Europe. The center focuses on the design and development of Lear products, including complex seating mechanisms and structures, foams, coatings, plastics, and trim components. The vision for Plzen is not to work as an internal supplier for our European business units but to develop into a leading Design and Development Center working on projects for all major European OEM customer groups from concept phase through to delivery.
Your Responsibilities:
- You take responsibility and independently/proactively manage the projects assigned to you.
- You initiate, plan, control, and monitor sub‑steps (milestones) while considering constraints related to time, resources (budget, costs, production/working conditions, personnel), and quality until the overall goal is reached, and you document them in the Lear systems.
- You define clear objectives / work packages for team members and interfaces, monitor them, and implement the project milestones and goals (internal/external).
- You organize, moderate, and conduct Management Gateway Reviews for each of your programs at the corresponding milestones or as needed.
- You manage project risk factors and proactively initiate countermeasures; you create necessary action plans with all functions and ensure timely execution. You actively use advanced quality planning.
- You present complex technical content to the customer.
- You implement changes according to Audi’s requirements and processes.
- You report project progress in weekly status meetings with the Audi program team, the Lear plant team, and management.
- You involve the plant at the earliest possible stage of the development process to achieve a stable, well‑producible, and financially profitable product.
- You apply lessons learned and moderate workshops on this topic.
- You respond to new customer requirements and issues in a solution‑oriented manner and adjust short‑term goals during the weekly team meetings.
Your Qualifications:
- Technical vocational training or university degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a comparable field
- Professional experience in the seating sector and/or knowledge of plastics, foam, textiles, leather is an advantage
- Excellent communication in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of other languages, such as German, is an advantage
- Solid MS Office skills
- Flexibility, resilience, persuasiveness, sociability, teamwork, independent, precise, and analytical working style
