Job Description

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team and support the development of electrical seat systems for global automotive customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and integration of seat wiring harness solutions from concept through serial production. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will ensure wiring harness designs meet customer specifications, quality standards, manufacturing requirements, and program milestones.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with project coordination in an international automotive environment.

Responsibilities

Seat Wiring Harness Development

• Development of seat wiring harnesses from concept phase through serial production
• Create, review and release of wiring harness designs and related engineering documentation, bills of materials, seat variants
• Review customer requirements and assess technical feasibility to ensure successful integration of wiring harnesses into complete seat systems in accordance with project and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, automotive standards, and technical and legislative requirements
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure on-time delivery of engineering solutions
• Support prototype builds, fitment trials, testing activities, and product validation 
• Maintain engineering documentation and product data within PLM systems 
• Support drawing readiness and engineering change management throughout the product lifecycle

 

Additional responsibilities: 

• Management of assigned engineering activities from customer request to Start of Production (SOP)
• Creation and tracking of project plans, timelines/milestones, engineering deliverables, cost estimation activities and design releases
• Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, drawings, and product data
• Analysis of engineering issues, root cause identification, and implementation of corrective actions
• Close cooperation with internal engineering teams, CAD, Testing, Prototype build, Manufacturing plants, Quality, Program Management, Sales and Purchasing teams
• Technical communication with internal and external customers across international locations
• Support design reviews and ensure project milestones are achieved according to program timing

Experience Requirements

What do we need from you? (Must Have)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience with electrical systems, wiring harnesses, or related electrical components (automotive or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, system diagrams, and engineering drawings
• Basic familiarity with 3D CAD tools for reviewing engineering data and package layouts
• Understanding of product development processes within an automotive or similar engineering environment
• Experience coordinating engineering activities within a project-based environment or cross-functional engineering teams
• Strong English and German communication skills
• Proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented working style
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe, particularly Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany

 

Nice to Have

• Experience with automotive seating systems or interior components
• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
• Basic understanding of automotive communication networks such as CAN and LIN
• Experience with APQP and FMEA methodologies
• Previous experience in wiring harness design and development for serial production programs
• Experience working directly with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for electrical systems
