Job Description
You will design, develop, and maintain software for industrial automated systems deployed in manufacturing plants. This role combines hands-on development in C# and Python with close collaboration across AI engineering, controls, and mechanical teams to deliver reliable, scalable and production-ready applications running on the shop floors.
Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain industrial software applications in C# and Python.
• Define software architecture and component design for new modules, applying established design patterns and documenting solutions with UML.
• Develop multi-threaded and multi-process components for real-time image acquisition, processing, and data handling.
• Integrate software with industrial hardware and control systems, including cameras, PLCs, and field devices over standard industrial protocols.
• Profile and optimize application performance, focusing on latency, throughput, and memory usage in continuous 24/7 operation.
• Design and maintain data persistence layers and interfaces with relational databases for traceability and production reporting.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain version control practices with Git, and contribute to CI/CD and testing workflows.
• Support commissioning, deployment, and troubleshooting of software at customer and plant sites.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience Requirements
Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing and deploying production software in industrial, embedded, or real-time environments.
• Solid proficiency in C# (.NET) and Python, including object-oriented design and asynchronous programming.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and UML modeling, with the ability to design maintainable and extensible systems.
• Hands-on experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming, synchronization, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code review).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and SQL.
Nice to have:
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and hardware integration (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, GigE Vision) is a plus.
• Experience with desktop UI frameworks (WPF, PyQt/PySide) is a plus.
• Experience with web technologies (JavaScript, Django) is a plus.
