Job Description
We are looking for a Seat Development Validation Engineer to join our international engineering team and support a major automotive seating program for a premium UK customer. In this role, you will act as the key interface between Engineering and Validation, ensuring that seat systems meet customer, legal, and safety requirements throughout the product development process.
The position combines technical validation expertise with project coordination, stakeholder management, and customer-facing communication. You will work closely with engineering teams, test laboratories, suppliers, manufacturing plants, and the customer to ensure that all validation activities are properly planned, executed, documented, and delivered on time.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, maintain, and manage validation plans for seat mechanisms, seat structures, and complete seat systems
• Define validation requirements and test requests based on customer specifications, legal regulations, and safety standards
• Coordinate validation activities, including timing, cost tracking, sample availability, and test scheduling
• Ensure test samples are delivered and prepared according to project requirements
• Monitor the correct setup and execution of static, dynamic, durability, functional, and crash tests performed by test laboratories
• Review, analyze, and validate test results to assess product compliance and performance
• Prepare technical validation reports and communicate findings to engineering teams and customers
• Coordinate discussions regarding non-compliant results and drive alignment on corrective actions, design changes, supplier changes, and retesting activities
• Maintain validation data and project tracking information within the validation management system
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, test laboratories, manufacturing plants, and customers throughout the development process
• Support decision-making by providing technical recommendations based on validation outcomes
Experience Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is preferred
• Experience in a Validation Engineering or similar role
• Automotive industry experience
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working with customer requirements, test specifications, standards, and compliance activities
• Ability to analyze technical test results and prepare clear reports
• Strong planning, coordination, forecasting, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities within a project environment
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience with seating systems, interior systems, or occupant safety products
• Previous customer-facing experience
• Knowledge of crash testing, durability testing, or functional validation
• German language skills
• Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering industry
