Global Commodity Buyer – Electronics (m/f/d)

Your Mission:

As a Global Commodity Buyer – Electronics, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the global sourcing strategy for electronic components. You will be responsible for managing strategic supplier relationships, driving cost optimization initiatives, and ensuring a robust contract landscape that supports Lear’s long-term business goals. Working cross-functionally with regional teams, you will contribute to performance targets and innovation across the supply base.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement commodity strategies aligned with business needs and global procurement objectives.
  • Negotiate and finalize core agreements and long-term contracts with strategic suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness and supply continuity.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with Supplier Quality Development (SQD), supporting innovation and risk mitigation.
  • Lead supplier relationship management efforts, including performance evaluation, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support commercial cost reduction activities, including benchmarking, insource/outsource analysis, and supplier localization planning.

 

What We Expect:

  • Experience in strategic purchasing role.
  • Background in direct commodity, with a preference for electronics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluent English.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization and risk management.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
