Job Description
The Program Manager – Electronics will lead complex automotive electronics programs from customer award through production launch and post‑SOP support. This role is critical to ensuring manufacturing readiness, customer satisfaction, and safe, on‑time launches of safety‑critical electronic products within the plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end program lifecycle from customer award through launch and post‑SOP support, ensuring delivery to program financial, timing, and quality commitments
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed program plans covering schedules, budgets, investments, risks, and launch milestones
- Lead cross‑functional program team including engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing, sales, and finance to achieve launch readiness
- Serve as the primary program interface to OEM customers, providing program status, managing escalations, and delivering launch commitments
- Plan and execute production launch activities, including plant infrastructure readiness, tooling, capacity planning, and production ramp‑up
- Coordinate pilot builds, PPAP, Run@Rate, and launch metrics to validate manufacturing capability and product readiness
- Manage the transition of program leadership from development sites to the manufacturing plant during the launch phase
- Oversee delivery of power distribution control modules incorporating high‑current electronics, liquid‑cooled thermal systems, and safety‑critical hardware and software
- Support compliance with functional safety requirements (ISO 26262), OEM standards, APQP, IATF, and internal product development processes
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate technical, schedule, quality, and launch risks while driving structured problem‑solving and lessons learned
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience, preferably in automotive electronics environments
- Experience launching electronic control units, power electronics, or similar automotive electronic products highly preferred
- Strong understanding of automotive development and launch processes, including APQP and PPAP
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional teams through high‑pressure launch environments
- Experience supporting program financials, including investment tracking and prototype or plant infrastructure expenses
- Exposure to functional safety, OEM customer requirements, and regulated automotive quality systems
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with power distribution modules, high‑current electronics, or EV architectures
- Exposure to liquid‑cooled electronic systems
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety
- OEM customer‑facing experience (GM, Ford, Stellantis, etc.)
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Experience working with global teams and suppliers
