Job Description

As a Robotics Technician - Industrial Automation (I4.0), you will participate in the development, programming, integration, and commissioning of robotic and automated manufacturing systems for new industrial installations.
You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, supporting engineering, software development, testing, and startup activities. This role is focused on the implementation of new automation solutions and manufacturing technologies within Industry 4.0 environments, rather than the day-to-day support of existing production equipment.
Travel up to 50% will be required to support equipment commissioning, production launches, and project deployments across Lear plants.

Responsibilities

•    Program and develop industrial robotic applications for new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
•    Support the development and integration of robotic automation solutions within industrial projects.
•    Participate in equipment commissioning, validation, and production startup activities.
•    Perform testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and software adjustments during development and commissioning phases.
•    Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and engineering teams throughout project execution.
•    Optimize robot trajectories and motion sequences to improve cycle times, process performance, and overall system efficiency.
•    Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies when required within automation projects.
•    Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and work instructions.
•    Support project deployment and production launch activities until customer acceptance.
•    Travel up to 50% to support project implementation, commissioning activities, production launches, and deployment of automation solutions across Lear plants.

Experience Requirements

•    Technical Degree, Vocational Training (Automation, Robotics, Electronics, Mechatronics) or Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering discipline.
•    5+ years of experience in robot programming, robotic cell development, commissioning, or machine-building projects.
•    Proven experience programming industrial robots, including application development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and cycle time optimization.
•    Experience with industrial robots, preferably KUKA and ABB, including online and/or offline programming environments.
•    Familiarity with robot trajectory optimization techniques to improve cycle times, process performance, and system efficiency.
•    Knowledge of PLC programming and HMI development will be considered an advantage.
•    Familiarity with industrial networks, sensors, vision systems, and automation technologies will be considered an advantage.
•    Ability to read and understand electrical and automation documentation.
•    Hands-on approach and willingness to participate in commissioning and startup activities.
•    Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
•    Availability to travel up to 50%.
