Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Support the development and implementation of electromechanical commodity strategy and own daily actions.
  • Single point of contact for suppliers and cross-functional teams for all activities related to electro-mechanical manufacturing in Europe.
  •  Develop new commodity suppliers according to strategy and monitor their implementation within Lear.
  • Achieve commodity savings targets by negotiating and implementing Supply Cost Technical Optimization (SCTO).
  • Support of the entire product life cycle from the purchase phase of new customer programs through mass production to end of life.
  • Lead commodity electromechanical component initiatives for assigned vendors, including sourcing new and existing electromechanical component spend (RFQs, benchmarking, negotiation rounds, analysis of bids and scenarios for proposal submissions, sourcing, annual negotiations and special initiatives, etc.).
  • Support the development of regional commodity and supplier strategies.
  • Align goals, strategies, actions with plants, program teams and commodity manager.
  • Organize and coordinate supplier workshops with Engineering to work on cost reduction ideas and implement them.
  • Ensure alignment of resources/processes and global procedures and delegation of authority (DOA) through SRM, SAP and Coupa systems.
  • System maintenance with price list updates, supplier contracts, parts approvals and other day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining a good knowledge of the current market and future trends to support the identification of alternative sources.
  • Support plants on logistics and quality issues with suppliers.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Engineering or Business Administration degree with work experience (if possible for automotive and electromechanical components) preferred but not required.
  • Must have very good negotiation skills and knowledge of the English language.
  • Good communication skills in a global organization, problem solving and analytical skills, independent, highly trustworthy person, team player.
  • Good time and workload management.
