Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing administrative support on a day-to-day basis for the HR Department.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers full recruitment services including job postings, sourcing, testing, interviewing and employee offers through to onboarding.
  • Conducts all new hiring HR orientation, and other applicable training as required.
  • Tracks probationary employees’ attendance and ensure completion of 2, 14, 30, 60, 90 day and semi-annual assessments by Coaches and Team Leaders.
  • Liaison for benefit and pension program for hourly and salary employees.
  • Processes all changes in HR systems including new hires and terminations and ensures all supporting documentation is completed and filed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Performs employee advocate functions such as responding to questions and issues raised pertaining to the benefits and pension program, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and employee assistance.
  • Creates and distributes quarterly newsletter.
  • Maintains databases for PPE, door access, training and quality badging.
  • Produces security badges for all employees and forklift badges for licensed employees.
  • Posts updated policies and employee information.
  • Liaison for payroll with employee questions regarding pay deposits.
  • Reporting back up for HR Specialist II.
  • Ensures compliance with the following legislation: OHSA, WSIB, Human Rights, Employment Standards, and Labour Relations.
  • Recognizing and understanding the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technology.
  • Ensures and understands compliance with harassment within the workplace towards others in the organization.
  • Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.

Qualifications

Education/Knowledge:    

  • Required
  • High School Diploma
  • Current knowledge of OHSA, WSIB claims processing, OHRC, ESA

 

  • Desired
  • Post Secondary Education or Experiential Equivalency

 

Experience/Skill:               

  • Required
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning and Organization skills.
  • Time Management and Prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Desired
  • 1-2 years experience in an Administrative function preferably within a union environment in the manufacturing/ automotive industry.

 

Compensation: The range of expected compensation for this position is $60,000-70,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
