QUALITY COACH – 3rd SHIFT
OSHAWA, CANADA – OSHAWA Plant
As a member of the Quality team, the Quality Supervisor will be responsible for working in a high-performance self-directed work team environment and partner with our management team to align our quality initiatives and functions with the objectives of the business.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Monitors and controls the quality of incoming and outgoing material.
- Investigates, determines root cause and resolves production build problems.
- Resolves manufacturing problems with non-conforming material to ensure supplier quality.
- Evaluates process capability together with production and engineering through regular audits on the floor.
- Builds a good working relationship with the customer and responds immediately to customer concerns/issues.
- Reviews seats returned from the customer to determine the cause of the quality issue/concern.
- Provides direction and distribution of work to workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer or vendors to coordinate and correct quality-related problems.
- Performs production tryouts of new material.
- Assists with supplier containment functions and resolves any of their concerns.
- Maintains the highest level of integrity and ethics in dealing with all suppliers.
- Performs computer work (preparation of reports, memos, audits, documents, graphs, etc.).
- Recognizes and understands the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technology.
- Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associates Degree (2 year degree)
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO9000/QS9000 and IATF16949
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Planning and organization skills.
- Time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to rotate between shifts every 3 months.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Bonus If You Have:
- Post-Secondary Education or Experiential Equivalency
- Comprehensive knowledge of AQP, PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA
- Knowledge of measurement systems, FARO CAM2Q software
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in the Quality Department preferably within the manufacturing/ automotive industry.
- Experience in ISO/IATF, Customer and Internal Audits.
- Understanding of manufacturing assembly, sequencing and equipment principles.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices.
