Position overview:

 

As a Cutting, Lead Preparation, Process & Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment related to cutting, stripping, crimping, sealing, and lead preparation, ensuring full readiness of production means for new launches and serial production in line with SQDC objectives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Define cutting, lead preparation, and crimping process requirements (machines, parameters, tooling) for new projects and engineering changes.
  • Ensure the availability of all production means (cutting machines, applicators, tooling, equipment) at SOP through proper planning, supplier follow-up, and inter-plant coordination.
  • Lead the acquisition, installation, validation, and ramp-up of equipment and tooling in line with project timelines.
  • Prepare and manage CAPEX requests related to tooling and equipment, ensuring cost control and budget adherence.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes (cutting, stripping, crimping, lead prep…) by defining cycle times, improving methods, and balancing production lines.
  • Drive continuous improvement actions on quality, productivity, and cost using Lean tools (VSM, SIPOC, Kaizen).
  • Coordinate industrialization activities with production, maintenance, quality, central engineering, suppliers, and customers.
  • Develop and maintain all process and tooling documentation (work instructions, standards, technical files).
  • Monitor tooling and equipment performance, capacity, and inventory status, ensuring readiness and reliability.
  • Conduct capacity studies and support production planning with accurate data and analysis.
  • Contribute to layout definition and optimization to ensure efficient production flow and space utilization.
  • Participate in supplier selection and technical validation of equipment and tooling.
  • Ensure, in collaboration with Quality and HSE teams, the validation, performance, and approval of machines and processes.
  • Support and train production teams on processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Promote innovation by introducing new technologies, automation, and improved manufacturing systems.
  • Support and assist the team in the execution of development tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and automotive requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and actively support QHSE objectives.

 

 

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Bac+5 with 5 years’ experience working in wiring activities.
  • Knowledge of Cutting & LP & crimping manufacturing process.
  • Strong understanding of process optimization methods and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Problem solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in both English & French languages, spoken and written
