Job Description
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing dimensional and geometrical testing, ensuring the accuracy of measurements, and supporting quality control activities. The role involves analyzing technical drawings, operating metrology equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret technical drawings, with strong knowledge of GPS (Geometrical Product Specifications) and tolerance standards
- Perform measurements and report results
- Create measurement programs using 3D metrology software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
- Experience in dimensional and 3D inspection (CMM, 3D scanning, etc.)
- Ensure calibration management of measurement equipment
- Ensure proper configuration based on quality issue history
- Validate product modifications
- Provide support during new product launches
- Evaluate process capability for new projects
- Measure injected parts according to drawings and make decisions on non-conforming dimensions
- Conduct MSA studies and analyze the results
- Check factory equipment and adjust when possible
- Stop production if necessary or ensure containment to protect the customer in case of quality defects
- Verify and approve calibration certificates from external laboratories
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Ensure that laboratory deliverables are submitted on time to the APQP engineer
Skills
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (Bac +3) in Metrology, Industrial Engineering, or Physics
Experience Requirements
Between 3 and 5 years of experience in laboratory (Metrology)

Languages
French: Professional proficiency
English: Intermediate proficiency
